DEVASTATOR

Spewed out from the very depths of the underground, the four-piece Black Thrash/Speed Metal outfit Devastator were formed in 2017. A band that proudly wore its influences on its sleeves, denim and leathers channeling the past cacophonies of Venom, Bathory, Sodom, Bulldozer and Destruction, Devastator quickly garnered a strong reputation as a live band in the UK underground Extreme Metal scene. Early 2018 saw the band release their self-titled demo tape which quickly circulated amongst slews of like-minded and ravenous degenerates yearning for the sounds of the washed out, raw 80s approach — the reputation grew even stronger.

With a heavy live schedule, Devastator continued to forge their path and in 2019 the band would enter the recording studio for the first time to lay down what would become their now acclaimed debut album “Baptised in Blasphemy”, which saw its release in July 2020 on the now defunct indie label Clobber Records. The success of the debut album saw the band climb higher on the live circuit across three years, securing open air festival performances at Bloodstock Festival in the UK, debut European appearances in the Netherlands and Germany and touring opportunities with the likes of Midnight, Exciter, Schizophrenia, Hellripper and more.

Devastator soon drew the attention of legendary record label Listenable Records, responsible for the early success of Gojira as well as a litany of other high calibre and influential metal bands. Thus the alliance was formed, Devastator signed to Listenable Records in mid-late 2023 and in the November of the same year released the remastered special edition of the debut “Baptised in Blasphemy” as their first on the new label.

Meanwhile behind the scenes the band were putting the finishing touches on the long awaited follow up and in March 2024 “Conjurers of Cruelty” was released worldwide upon the masses. The sophomore album garnered strong positive reviews across the board from the likes of Metal Hammer, Sweden Rock, and Kerrang, with even more extensive European touring and festival appearances the band continued to excel through the underground and reach a breakthrough with their first arena show at Damnation Festival in the UK.

With their tenth anniversary on the horizon in 2027, Devastator signs a new deal with The Flaming Arts to secure live performances further afield and with a new EP set for release in late 2026 entitled “Goathammer” along with the third LP in the works in conjunction with the anniversary plans, Devastator shows no signs of relent.
